Ceramic heat lamp

I have geckos and chickens....I use heat lamps butnot this type. I have seen posts that folks use them for chickens when they do not want the extra light/light all day/night long. It should be fine as long as you use it in a lamp that is rated for 100 or more and best has a ceramic socket. Many reptile lights have that feature (clamp style etc)

I use this in my MN coop. Love it. This type of heat won't provide any light, so they are better able to sleep at night. It won't heat the air so much, but it sends heat radiating down to whatever it's pointed at. I installed the light fixture over the roost. Works great. Bought mine on ebay.
