I'm a member of Michigan backyard chickens on Facebook.
There is a lady on there that claims she bought black sex links and she ended up with a rooster that was the same color as the hens.
What are the chances of this?
Or is she mostly likely just stirring the pot?

She hasn't responded yet..
I wonder percentage of black sex links fail?
If done correctly none should fail. My friend had a Black Sex Link hen that had a large comb and wattles like a rooster, but was most definitely a hen. Also a picture of the suspected rooster would be very helpful.

One of my black sex links is looking very cockerel like. Very red face and growing wattles. "It" is about 10 weeks old. I was pretty aggravated by the way the guy at the feed store grabbed the chicks as I told him what I wanted. The other black sex-link is about half brown, but at least it looks like a pullet.
Again, though, the mix up may have been done by the workers there, not the hatchery.
