I only have one Brahma hen who acts like this she won't eat or drink I try hand feeding and it won't work I've done from cat food to sweets in desperation she is fluffed up not drinking much and red come and face am i missing something here i get that in inexperienced but I've spent hundreds of hours in research for my hens and guinea hen I'm only in college and I'm going for vet tech just because of my girls I'm early in the courses please help

Where are you located? What is your climate? What is the housing like? What is the ventilation like? What is the bedding? Do they free range at all?
What were you feeding prior to her not eating? Any other symptoms? How many other birds.
A bird that stops eating and is fluffed up is sick. Can you put her somewhere warm away from the other birds?

We are on ny is currently 4 degrees out there is ventilation they have over 6 inchs of shavings and hay i have 7birds in total she isn't molting my Mother used to be a vet tech and she said it's just get conserving energy for warmth she has a slight runny nose she is very perky still She just went to be in nesting box she has been eating her normal diet I can't remove her due to the fact we had a huge snow storm I live with my mother we have dogs and well she can't come inside she is very healthy looking to yesterdaywas almost 30 its the sudden change in temp the reason the last time she had this was when she was molting and was 75% nakid

here is sry up the center is divided into two sides two separate coops no wild birds can get in side

Since it is that cold where you are, the fluffed up condition may be just from the cold.
Try wetting some chicken feed. That is the complete nutrition she really needs.
What is the normal diet?

Norm is layer feed with orgeno in water mornings they get kale peas Green beans and carrots chopped up with bread in mornings sms evenings with meal worm or boss in small amounts I'm just worried abt het that's all sorry for all the trouble I just love my girls so much

Another good reason to regularly weigh our hens... Our multi-clawed ladies all get thrown for a loop when the temps suddenly drop, as it has been all winter this year. I have found a high energy/highly interesting hot(ish) mash goes a long way to bridging cold weather swings. I posted a recipe in the food section but I warn you it's like crack. They will become about the size of the Goodyear blimp if fed too often, but it really helps our little flock deal with the suddenly cold.
