I made a hot mash of Nutrena All Flock, a small handful of mealworms, and eight scrambled eggs for my fourteen pullets and one cockerel this morning and they scarfed it all down in seconds! I was shocked at how quickly (and quietly) they ate it... Our weather has taken a nose dive out here in Southern Ohio too and I noticed that they’ve been eating like stevedores and drinking more water than usual. But that’s because they are tiny food-fueled furnaces wrapped in down coats!

Hi Yuki, so far, they seem to be doing well in the cold. They’re getting bored with being confined to the coop and run for most of the day tho. I usually let them out three or four times during the day, but it’s been so cold, I didn’t want anyone getting wet.

We eat the eggs, but not the chickens. They’re more like pets that poop breakfast!

Yep, they’ve got a flock block, some new roosts (I move them around and switch them out occasionally), and I put their chow and a little scratch in a water bottle with holes in it. Plus I go out and just sit with them a few times a day. They’re not picking on each other much.

Why not trying adding in a bell it also is good for simulation its good to hear Ur hens once and a while are ur kids snowed in to sorry if I'm assuming things
