Do chickens egg color change over time or as they get ready to molt? We normally only have brown eggs and for the past few days we have been getting very light colored eggs. Is this normal or are they missing a supplement? Hoping they just relieze I needed eggs for the kids to color for easter 🤣

Nope no young layers. Wondering if we stressed them out putting up a fence or if it has anything to do with the oregano supplement we added to water.

Not sure if the oregano has anything to so with it, but there's no good reason to add anything to the water. Fresh plain water is best.

The brown coating can lighten as the season progresses, it can also vary from day to day, then after molt and winter break when laying begins again it will be darker again.

Wondering.....
