I find all your answers very helpful myself. Thanks for sharing all your inputs! I had one egg pip yesterday, and now, more than 24 hours later it has still not made it through. Although, I did see it move and heard it chirp earlier today. I thought of intervening, but after reading some of these comments I will leave it alone and see what happens. I saw a tiny spot of blood on a tiny chip that came off the egg shell. I guess this one needs its time.. if it will make it. And then just about an hour and half ago another egg started piping. BANG! 30 minutes later it was out of the egg!! It was just too bizarre! I sure got proof that the little chickies are just as different as we humans are. We all need our time.
