Changing Colors

Is it normal for a chicken to change it's colors with time? I have a young Oriental Gamefowl who's almost a year old, when he was younger his main orange color was that of a bright orange shine but now that he's gotten older it's turned into a darker shade of red..... is that normal? Do you think it has anything to do with possibly having deficiencies in vitamins and nutrients causing the change in color?

Feathers get old and lose their brightness over time. See what he looks like after the fall molt. Some do change colors and intensity over time, especially as they mature, but usually you see the color change during and after a molt.

its natural as the cockerel matures to a full grown adult, pics would be nice to have

It’s perfectly normal for feathers to change color with age— especially after the first couple molts. The sun plays a role in it too, dark feathers become lighter and light feathers darken when exposed to the sun.
