Changing feed

My chicks are 13 weeks old and this is new to me so I've got many questions! I'm finishing the last of my chick starter feed. I'm wondering what type of feed to switch them to. I've read they may start laying between 15 and 20 weeks and we're going into fall, seems they are starting to mold a bit. So do I need layer feed or should I keep them on starter or something else?

I keep mine on starter or grower at least until 5 months old. I think it's too early to switch to layer. But you can switch to layer feed anywhere between 5 and 18 months old.

I would only switch to layer feed once they are all actually laying eggs. Until then, you can just give them some oyster shells for calcium.
