Hi all,

I have had my 4 girls for less than a week now and was told to put them on a "grower" feed by our local supply store... so that is what I did. I was told that the bag should last about 2 weeks when they will be ready to go onto a "layer" feed as they should be laying by then. Well, low and behold the next day we started getting eggs, so I have most of a 5kg back of "grower" left. Should I move them over to the "layer" or is it OK to keep them on the "grower"?

I don't mind changing, just don't want to waste 3kg of feed.

Thanks in advance for the advise

its fine to feed them the grower, you might want to offer some crushed shells or eggshells for added calcium. until they finish the bag. i wouldn't really worry about it though and just feed it til its gone. your could always get a bag of layer feed and mix it with what feed you already have.
