Hello!
We are buying/building a house in a subdivision that does not allow backyard chickens. I've looked at buying in different areas, but nothing else really works as well for our family; my kids take precedence over chickens... lol. However, my kids and I have our hearts set on having a little flock of ladies; we have no desire to have a rooster.
We're not moving for a year, so I have plenty of time to work up a strong case for chickens. They've said no to them to "help protect property values." The county laws do allow them.
I'm looking for some help with where to start my research on backyard chickens and property values. And if anyone has an HOA that allows chickens, I'd love a copy of the by-laws.
Has anyone taken on their HOA and been successful?
