If you are familiar with the Chanteclers I have a question. I am planning on free ranging mine but in the winter - well should I let them out then too? I know I've read they do not handle confinement well and they are cold hardy but should I let them out in the winter? If not, how do your Chanties do cooped up all winter? Do they get aggressive? Any help would be appreciated.

I can't answer about Chanteclers specifically(we don't have them), but our birds are free to go outside all winter if they wish. Of course if there's a lot of snow or it's very cold and windy they generally choose not to. There are some that need more outdoor time than others. It seems to be more of a personality thing than a breed thing with ours.

It also depends on where you are. If you're in a location that is frigid and there's a lot of deep snow they may have to stay in.
