oh man so I cleaned out the coop and nesting box yesterday. But this time I had a new type of nesting material, along with nesting herbs. Let the girls back in and they were pissed about it. They were acting like someone stole their home. Lol. I had to sit with them and talk them through it, if that doesn’t sound crazy. That’s the last time I change bedding types.

Chickens have a lot to say, well mainly gripe. Sometimes it takes them a while to get used to new things.

It’s funny as I’m kinda the same way. Not good with change. Lol.

Drumstick is right. Chickens disclaimer lots of things but changes to the home environment are right at the top. I built mine a huge new coop and instead they tried to roost in the old one even though it was missing sides. Mealy worms worked to get them in the new one and once they associated food with their home the complaining lessened. I have one now that comes by me when I’m outside just to let em know she does not like the two new pullets. Just like humans they complain about the rain, the snow (they complain bitterly about the snow) and even if we don’t answer the backdoor quick enough with treats for them.
