Yep...agree with all the "teach them to come" posts. Either a "Here chick-chick-chick!" or the shaking of a treat can followed by yummy scratch, sunflower seeds, or other treats. They will learn quickly to come running for a treat (which you toss inside their run so they will follow it in).

I have a bell hanging in the middle of my chicken yard that I ring at treat time - plus - I have a HannahMontana bucket that my kid got for Easter that they recognize as treat time. The bell & sight of the bucket work wonders.

Thank youu, thank you, I like the bell method. That's how I got my Wheaten terrier to let me know when he needs to go outside since he's not much of a barker. I will try out all these tips one by one and see which would work best.
