OK, you young people stay up..... I am over the hump, which makes me old enough to want more sleep

Night you young things you!

But...if you young things need something to do.....

I could not find a SINGLE breeder/seller of those tinamou! I just wanted to see the outrageous price, so that I could move on.

Anyway, if you'll find a website where I can buy them, post it, OK?

I am just super curious?...are we talking $200? $2,000? Of course, even $10 is too much for me I think, but I wold like to KNOW!

Thanks, and good night! (. I almost typed Good Knight! OK....WAY too tired, going to bed)
Night!

I AM going to TURN off this electronic device and GO TO BED the second I hit send....

What can I tell you, being on here is more fun...

But then again, I am not so great grumpy and tired, and tomorrow is going to be another chock full day......

Good night!

found this on another thread where someone asked about us breeders..will search some more though .\

There used to be some breeders in Washington (Chilean Tinamou)
Also Loyd Ure (used to be the editor of AP&WS) used to have several species of them... no idea if he ever bred any or not
doesnt tell pricing but heres one too :

that is a tinamou non hatching egg on ebay ...
$(KGrHqN,!rkFGVYQjLwqBRoW-M0zJg~~60_3.JPG

id say the birds themselves are probably really high priced ...
that egg is 65 for the first bid not counting 9 for shipping for a total of 74 minimum for a non hatching egg ... emu non hatching eggs go for anywhere from 8-35 ..some possibly higher but unless it is already blown out and carved very beautifully they rarely go for that price .... just giving you a general idea of how much more these birds themselves must be ........ unfortunately cause those eggs are awesome .. that one is a gem in color and shine .... thats all i found for now and my movie is off so im heading to bed as well .. night all

aww id keep her unless she acts lost or sad.. or maybe ya just dont want her ?
She seams fine, she doesn't even seem to mind that her friend is gone at all and I would like to keep her. In fact she seems much more friendly now, the other duck was very scared of me but now Gemima seems friendlier without the other duck.

i would keep her then !! i have a pekin that was often alone but she is friendlier that way ..right now she has a khaki for company ...

Yeah, I think i will.
It seems a bit harsh, just loosing my duck but I have found someone with some KC's, just waiting for a reply from her. I just don't want my duck to be alone, even though she is with 20 chickens, they avoid her and well.....chickens can't swim.LOL.

How are you silver?

Silver, you must have came into the thread just as I was posting my final good night!!

I was so tired, my eyes were all messed up from working in the dirt, dirt in my contacts..
mgno.gif
..not fun. I actually had to flush out my eyes with contact solution
I have a pic of the progress to post. The only thing that is not in the pic is the wire on the top back 2/3. We did that last night after I got the pic......after dark.......I have decided to go with a thatched roof. I have no idea what the hail I am doing, but that is what the internet is for, RIGHT!?!

So, what do y'all think so far? I don't have a house built for them yet, but they seem to be doing well so far. They like to sleep on the patch of grass,
wink.png
and eat it too.....

. Stupid ducks, you'd think they would leave one area nice, poop on the dirt floor, but NNNOOOOOOO, they want to poop in the grass and LAY in it.......

I robbed that young sabal palm to the left in the top pic for thatching materials.......the fronds were in the way of progress, and they will come back soon. I have a couple large ones that really could use a trim, but the leaves that need to come off are all old and brown....
sickbyc.gif

I think I want to put them on there green, more pliable to work with, and I think it will settle and dry nicely if it all settles together, So, I am sending DH down the road for palm fronds whenever he gets back from feeding the LF...
ranton.gif
......I swear he takes 2 hours to feed 30 frikin chickens......
What is the deal with that, is it just a stupid guy thing.....
sure1010.gif
is he communing with the chickens, or what!?!
OMG, come on
boots.gif
there is work to do, and lots of it!!!!!!!!
Takes me about 1/2 an hour, including travel time for 5 miles one way....
gathering eggs......
going through locked gates, even!!

OK, so now i am going to look up how to thatch that thing. Hopefully I will get that part done today...I am only going to thatch about 2/3 of it so they have shade. The rest I am going to leave open, so they can get sun and rain too....they seem to like the rain....

Am I missing something? Where's the door to get in? And how you going to change the water in there. Ducks are very messy. Within days it will be mud as He77. LOL.
