I love watch the ducks, we have several wild flocks of geese and ducks around here due to all the catfish ponds.

LOL I know y'all saw that I got the posts set.....one is WWAAAYYYYYY off, but I cannot complain too much, DH was being eaten ALIVE by all the mosquitoes, and getting nasty attitude, so I told him I would fix it today while he is off in town.....don't know if I will get it done, but I am going to try. He told me yesterday the only way to fix it is to pull it out and redig the hole with the auger-
I AM NOT TRYING TO USE THAT THING!!!!!!!!
DH is not a big guy, and it was throwing him around everytime it hit a root- not really, but he has the strength to hold it ....I do not, and I can just see me trying to pull that thing back up out of the hole....if I were to even get that far. It has a pull start like a lawnmower, i doubt I could even get it started at all!!!!!!
I figure, the hole is now filled with dirt that was JUST dug out, right? I can do it with the irrigation shovel

i went with 8x12 for ease of measurements.

I guess after I get that post fixed, I need to dig a trench around the bottom outside so I can set the wire down in there a little.
Maybe before that I need to screw 2x4s to the posts to keep them in place.....LOL

I was helping my DH hold the auger, he held one side and I held the other side because it will beat you to death! We still have a bunch of post's to put in for several pens and another run. Good luck with your posts and pen!

I just love those stupid ducks- They are so appreciative when their pond gets drained and cleaned, it is cool to watch!!It could get old though, seeing as how I must do it every other day!!!!

Does anyone know if ducks eat fire ants? I threw a few pieces of nearly dead sod in there near the pond a little while ago, and then afterward, When I started to water it there was a bunch of ants.......crud, I hope they don't eat my ducks!!!! They are right now nibbling in the grass-
I freakin hate fire ants!! I know the chickens eat them quick, but don't know about ducks

Ok, I gotta get something done.....even if it is wrong.LOL JK

I get to watch the ducks and geese across the Hwy. they are in the pond for the cows most all day every day. So I get to watch them fly in and out and swim. They are very pretty.
I am enjoying my chickens and turkey! I just found out that I have 6 EE hen's and one EE rooster! I am very excited about that! I thought for the longest that it was the other way around! YEA! Have fun with your new pen and ducks! Going to pick lettuce for salads tonight! Later

I was just getting ready to go out a few minutes ago, and I heard terrible squawking again.... In the brooder where the 3 porcelain d'uccles and the 2 silver sebrights are was a fight!!! one of the sebrights had a hold of one of the porcelains by the head

Poor baby...........

I threw them OUT in a cage in the front yard. OMG, I can't get this stuff built fast enough....

ETA: It was the sebrights I threw out in the cage.

I go to Fairhope Park/Beach to watch the ducks and geese and of course seagulls when I feel that urge coming on. Feed them, and move on my merry way.
So glad you're hanging around with us.

This can be a neat place to hang out late at night when we're all bone tired and weary and just need to get our goofy/silly on.

That's what I like about this thread, not so darn serious all the time!!! OK to goof up. If you goof up too bad though, you'll have to watch out for Chickn's yard stick. She might whack you, hee hee. I've "ducked" it a few times I'm sure.

Came in for late lunch, on my way out. Ouch! bless their hearts. They are sooo ready to be settled down too...Just rememer, go slow, one thing at a time, it will all come together, "in about 10 years"! hahaha I digress. . .

Take it slow, take deep breaths, and focus on one thing at a time. Who the heck am I kidding?

When it's all in place, it's never one thing at a time. Seems like it's always something? Ok, I'm not doing a good job encouraging you so I'll go throw my bumms back out in the yard again, and work, work, work, . . .sheepy, . . .work, work, you know. . . . Oh well, hang in there my love!!!!!
