Cheap layer feed in Phoenix?

I've been spending about $19 for a 50lb bag of layer feed about every other month. I've heard of people paying less, but I don't really know of any good feed stores in my area. I've tried looking up places, but they usually don't have a website or let you know their running prices. Anyone in the Phoenix, AZ area that knows a good feed store? How much do their layer feeds and scratch run for? Call me cheap, but sometimes it would be nice to save a couple bucks lol. Thanks in advance!

I order a all organic feed full of lots of goodies at 19.00 but for 30 pounds for that price, so for 50 pounds, that's not a a bad price at all really. That's probably the best deal for a complete feed. You might be able to find a cheaper feed but you will need to be careful about what it contains . If you want a complete nutritional feed 50 pounds for 19 dollars is pretty good. You might be able to find a complete mash for less but it would take some online searching. I live in California and my area does not offer much in the lines of nutrition organic complete feed so I order mine online and have it shipped out to me. You might consider searching online as well for your cheaper feed. Just always watch the ingredients closely for complete nutrition. If you don't find any thing in your area for less you just might find what your looking for online and have it shipped to you. This works out well for me it to might work out well for what your looking for as well. I know in my area some mash mixes are cheaper than crumbles, you might want to look into that as well if you don't mind making a mash. Perhaps that can help save a few dollars as well. Yes this is true especially in regards to nutrition. Last year I had three cases of nutritional defiency using what is cconsidered a "complete" packaged food from Purenia. I have since switched over to a all organic feed. Yes it IS more expensive at around 19 dollars for a 30 pound bag plus shipping charges but it's well worth the extra money. Their is a HUGE difference in ingredients and it contains things like Probotics, vitamins A, D3, E, B12, folic acid, iron, biotin, zinc, calcium, riboflavin, and the ingredients are things like organic field peas, organic wheat, organic oats, organic corn, fish meal, sea kelp, organic flaxseed, organic rice bran, organic alfalfa meal, organic barley and more. All non GMO. Soy free. I've not had any more defiency since I've switched over (Thank God!) The birds eggs are better, their feathers are brighter and I've had weight gain in my birds. They really love it too! It's absolutely worth every cent more! Just looking and smelling the feed you can see a huge difference! So I would say sometimes Cheaper is NOT always best. Vitamin defiency is a very ugly thing and I would be very very careful with the ingredients in a cheaper feed.i never thought much about these things until my flock was stricken with a defiency. I always assumed they were getting what they needed in the "complete" feed, but that just was NOT the case. Now I pay very close attention to their feed and snacks keeping it all organic and no GMO or soy. So if your looking for a cheaper feed please pay close attention to what is actually IN the food. You wouldn't want your birds to be lacking in any vitamin. Cheaper is not necessarily better for them in the long run. I really hope this helps and wish you the best.

I realize cheaper isn't always better, but it would be still be nice to save a few bucks. I also realized that it's every month that I go to the feed store (which I guess still isn't bad). It sometimes seems longer though. I have two different flocks (six birds total), so I have to purchase two different feeds. Right now my flocks are eating purina layena crumbles and medicated starter. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with cheap quality feed in my area. It does happen, so that's why I'm curious. If not, then I'll probably just stay with what I have.
