Cheapest place to buy canning jars

I fee like I'm going broke trying to buy all the jars I need for canning. I've hit up all my friends and family, but they've all got quart size (which I gladly accepted.) However, I'm doing a lot of jams and butters for Christmas presents, so I have to buy the half-pint size. Any suggestions?

Check the garden aisles, I noticed some I think at Wal-Mart on clearance, and also check thrift stores, I picked up a nice quart for 0 in the free box. I even asked to make sure, because I couldn't believe it was FREE. I also got some pretty jelly jars after Xmas at Wal-Mart one year. Rural King has them, not sure how much they are, and this summer Menard's had them for $3.99 a case and you could get up to 12!!! So, home supply stores might be another place to try.

Yard sales, estate sales, did you try freecycle? The hardware store has them here.

Goodwill or yard sales. They usually go for 25 or 50 cents a jar.
