That is a tongue-in-cheek website, you know. There is no standard for an EE. Someone just got their hackles up when they found out they didn't have an Ameraucana, it seems.
I wonder if it's possible to develope a standard at all. Wouldn't there hve to be consistant characteristics in the birds. Is there a site that compares the EE to the Ameraucana side by side? Sometimes I think it would be good to compare side by side, especially where "barred" chickens are concerned.
You can't standardize an EE since it's a cross and you get all sorts of color patterns, leg colors, eye colors, body types, beards and muffs, beardless and no muffs, egg colors, etc, etc. It's completely unpredictable, really.
I have seen that before- kinda funny. I wonder why they would "discount" tufted and rumpless birds though? I want to make mini-EEs with my araucana & cochin bantams
thats pretty funny although the history part is true so i guess standard ameraucanas came from easter eggers. lol. i prefer to call mine non standard ameraucanas.
