My hubby bought me a "special" hen for our anniversary. I wonder what breed she is? She has brown feathers with blue under-feathering. Yellow feet with metal wings. Oh and a single comb of course!! Her favorite treat is chocolate chip cookies!! (I think)
She must be some sort of heavy breed because she is sooo big.
Check her out!

She's very pretty. Happy Anniversary!

Us chicken women make it so easy for our DH's to find just the right gift, huh? If it has chickens on it, it's perfect. They ought to be thankful we have chickens.

The funny thing is he bought me a rooster jar last anniversary. I wonder if I will get little coffee cups that look like baby chicks next year. I love him so much and I really like the thought more than the cost. To me this is wayyyyyy better than diamonds any day unless of course they start making chicken shaped diamonds......hmmmm.

The Latin term for this rare bird it Metalicus Gallus, or "metal chicken". Care is suprisingly easy for these rare birds as they don't make a whole lot of noise unless prompted. They eat sweets as their main ration; don't worry. They have special chemicals in their stomach that turn the sweets into nutrients the Metalicus Gallus needs. They need to be cleaned about once every 2 weeks, but cleaning is easy! Just run your average cleaning wipe over the chicken (make sure you rub it well!) and it'll be shiny and clean! But do I need to clean the inside, you ask? Just put some soap inside the bird (it doesn't harm them) and then run water in her belly and she'll be as good as new! Life span is anywhere between 1 month to 25 years, depending on if you like her or not.

An interesting fact about these birds is that they only come in the female form, which is why they're rare.

Enjoy your new Metalicus Gallus!

Thank you so much for the wonderful information. I will definitely be keeping this one because she is so very rare. She is mostly ceramic but her wings are indeed metal which was leading me to believe she was some kind of cross breed.

I belive then she was cross breeded with a Chinum Gallum. Very vain, those birds. Cleaning will be a lot more often, due to them being so vain.

And you're welcome!

--- and you are naming her 'Annie' for 'anniversary,' aren't you?
Everyone will want hatching eggs -- :-)
