Hi Fellow Chicken Keepers!
Wanted to share my fancy new coop enclosure with you that I had custom made for "the girls" this fall. It is a vinyl enclosure with snaps for easy removal and a clear panel for light permeability and visibility. After 4 years of struggling with plastic sheeting, shower curtains and white plastic Corex panels, I finally decided to have a custom enclosure fabricated. I couldn't be happier with my decision! I am able to fully see the girls, they are able to take their sun baths all while being protected from the wind, snow and harsh winter elements. What I love best about this winterization method is that the panels are completely washable, in the spring they can instantly be removed for warm days and then over the summer they all store in a small bag that I keep in my house. I chose to have the panels made separately so I can hang it in under 20 minutes by myself! I had this enclosure made by the fine folks over at Ace Canvas in Bohemia, NY. They came to do all of the measurements and then fabricated as per my specifications! The material can be cut easily with scissors so if you have any locks or hinges you need access to, you can just cut around them! Always looking for things that make my life as a chicken keeper easier- all while making the girls life better!
