Yesterday my three, almost 6 week old chicks moved outside into the half way coop till the big coop is done! (I have three grown up hens they will eventually live with in the big coop) The chicks = one EE, two BO The hens = one BR, two Gold sex links and of course the Golden Retriever Koda!
The coop is a big chest like toy box and its made from some heavy plastic so it stays insulated some what, eventually the chicks will have a run attached but we didn't get that far. P.S. do they still need a heat source cause I weaned them off of it when they were in the house and last night was in the 40's to upper 30's, and at about 1am I was getting worried so I grabbed a heat lamp and stood it outside the coop toy box and had it pointed on one side wall just to heat it up a bit!
