OK, I'm pretty excited because I got most of the stuff for this coop for FREE! The frame of it is a wooden crate, all the insulation, the roofing... Parts from the crappy rabbit hutch these poor guys lived in for a couple weeks... All stuff we had laying around or that I found for free! We only spent about $100 on hardware siding, the buckets and other little things! So here it is!!
The crappy old hutch:
Chickies patiently waiting for hubby to finish up for the night! They were so funny... This was a little after 8pm, and they always go into their coop about 7:30... So they kept wandering around peeking their heads in like... WTH are you doing in there?? We went to go to bed!
First night in the new coop! G'night Chickens!!
We still have a little work to do today, but they love it so far!!
How does it look?? The front is going to have a dog door (I think), and will be all closed off except for the ventilation screen that will go up top. That and the side window should be enough right?
This is my first time with chickens, and we only have 3 (for now..
) Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
