Just in case you don't know chicken wire will only keep chickens in and not keep predators out like raccoons. I see it is inside a fenced yard so that will keep dogs out but raccoons will climb the fence. I've caught raccoons during broad daylight, but mostly at night.

Yea I was actually thinking going right over the chicken wire with some hardware cloth just for some extra protection

That would be a good idea. Check amazon and walmart.com for HWC prices. They are usually lower than big box stores.
