We have 12 Jersey Giant chicks that are about a month old, 6 silkie babies that are only about 3 weeks old, 4 cochins that are 3 months old, and 4 orpingtons and a silkie who are also about 4 months old. We haven't quite finished our chicken house, and they're starting to jump up and sit on the top rim of the plastic tubs we use as brooders. These wire tops work GREAT!

I will tell you that we found out that we can't make them with the wire rectangles going up and down because the chicks can walk through them. However, if you make them with the wire rectangles laying horizontally, the chicks cannot walk through.
