Check out This coop for sale posting...

Wow, by that standard, then I should charge $2000 for this one I'm going to sell soon, huh? Am going to ask $200, though. You won't believe it but I found a picture of my own coop on Craigslist, with someone asking for one free and using it for an example of what he wanted. A BYCer alerted me, thinking it was mine. Yuppers, sure was!

Yea. I saw that one too. I don't know whats wrong with folks around here. I was looking a 10x20 dog kennel a while back and folks wanted more for them than a new one was. I finally found a commercial one for $150.00 that has welded corners instead of bent or jointed. I jumped right on it. When I went to pick it up the lady told me that she had gotten 300 emails about it. I have to admit she did sell it a little too cheap, but she was moving. I don't mind paying a fair price for something but I'm not crazy...lol.

The chutspah of these folks!! I MEAN! C'mon! Even the outrageously over-priced crappy coops in this part of the country aren't that .... out there!

We have some pretty good builders on CL, and they're not cheap, but their work is good.

There is this guy that keeps showing ... oh heck, just let me post it here: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/grd/1786379705.html

This is NOT an example of the GOOD coop listings.

Wow..

Also, it's my habit to read punctuation-free capslock as someone screaming without pausing for breath. "I MADE THIS THING AND IT IS LESS AWESOME THAN I WANT YOU TO THINK AND WILL HOLD MAYBE TWO BIRDS COMFORTABLY AND I'LL PUT IN A STICK FOR ANOTHER $50"

Looking at that thing, I'm thinking the builder doesn't know how big an actual chicken is.. 25 adult birds? Seriously? It must be much larger than it looks.

It just looks small in the picture - you know, it's really bigger than it looks:lol:

Our rabbit hutch is bigger than that. My father-in-law built it and when he builds something, he builds it big. It was a good thing too....both mama rabbits had babies and we had 18 in there at 1 time. As they've grown, we've found homes and separated girls from boys, but there are still 7 in there with plenty of room.

SpeckledHen - I love that chicken house - it's really neat!
