Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. Last year four females chicks hatched. One was tiny and nervous. I named her Cinderella, and every day while the other hens were exploring I fed on her own and she began to grow strong. Now she's a cheeky chick who follows me around pecking at my feet until I give her preferential treatment
