I'm afraid to count them, lol.

It's OK... it's CHICKENS you shouldn't count before they've hatched

Quote: How cute you let your doves fly around your home too. I love it.
As to their pooping, there is nothing I can do about it. I cover important stuff with magazine pages and towels. They are always doing it!! And when they do it on the counters and floors I always disinfect. But for some reason it doesn't bother me since they are my loves. I do keep up on it daily when they are out. And the vacuum for the seed they scatter. What about your doves?
Ahh, that is sad but I am honestly happy the one thrived and was released. Had you not rescued them in time I am sure it would probably have been 3 for 3 mortality rate.Sadly the smaller of the two died, but the bigger one grew up and was released.![]()

No, it IS cute, Kathy. Love the half space of ducklets and the other half eggs. They are precious.
Quote: Good, that's a relief. I actually had to replace a lampshade because mine destroyed it with poops. Now the new one gets covered with a magazine when they are out and if they wanna land there I do not care. Most non-bird owners are totally grossed out by this. Does not phase us at all. I am careful about keeping food areas cleaned cuz I don't wanna get sick but really I don't care.
My downstairs can be blocked from my upstairs by a door so I just lock them upstairs where there is no food and the ceilings are high. My doves are big enough they dont poo on the lamp shade but underneath it.Good, that's a relief. I actually had to replace a lampshade because mine destroyed it with poops. that's perfect then. Cool your house is set up to accommodate your birds. My downstairs can be blocked from my upstairs by a door so I just lock them upstairs where there is no food and the ceilings are high. My doves are big enough they dont poo on the lamp shade but underneath it.
It really just happens to work out that way... My house is over 200 yrs old and every probably 4 years I put on an addition or renovate. Because it is the entire families house my brother and sister have to help pay for the renovations and additions. They hate it but I kinda like the set up! After 200 yrs it has 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 living rooms, a dining room, and a big kitchen. And I got it for cheaper because its the families house. My family built it when it was just a bedroom and kitchen.that's perfect then. Cool your house is set up to accommodate your birds.
That is so neat. Lots of history in that home. It has to be kept up to preserve its life. No place like home, as the saying goes!It really just happens to work out that way...
