Cheerio is flying the coop should I clip wings?

Hi everyone,
I have 3 young chickens...and one keeps flying the coop. It is the smallest of the 3. Would clipping her wings help? Thanks!

I always clip the wings of any chickens I have. Even though my pen is 8 ft high, some of the lighter breeds can soar over it with no problem. Just make sure your scissors are very sharp and use your stronger hand to cut away from the body and just cut the long flight feathers that way you won't draw blood by cutting to short.

Part of the idea is to cut the flight feathers on only ONE wing. The idea is to unbalance your chicken so she can't get the lift needed for flight.

Something to think about - if she can fly out, a hawk can fly in.
