Cheese Please!

My 3 week olds go bonkers over shredded cheese. Is it bad for them? I haven't noticed anyone getting sick or pasty butt. The big girls love it too.

I wouldn't give a whole lot to youngins, but the adults love all sorts of dairy! Do you have grit for them?

Mine love a little shredded cheese now and then. Also another source of calcium.

I give small amounts of shredded mozzarella cheese to chicks about once a week. The adults get it, from my hands, two or three times a week. It's a great source of protein and some calcium (which is why I don't give much to the chicks - too much calcium can be bad for them).

The two things I feed as treats from my hands are shredded mozzarella cheese and dry, rolled oats (cheapo, old fashioned oatmeal, without salt). The other treats I toss out to them.

Shredded cheddar is the 1st thing my girls madly pick out of the treat dish!
