Few weeks ago I put approximately one cup of whey in the chickens water bowl in the morning. The bowl was almost empty at sundown which had not happened in the past or since. They obviously loved it.

My girls know when the shredded cheese comes out it's time to go in the pen..two years now and I just shake the cup and they come running!!! They love it

My hens love yogurt and cottage cheese, which they get occasionally. I would be more concerned about the sodium in cheese than the lactose. Cheese has lower levels of lactose than other dairy products, especially hard cheeses.

My girls will hammer some macaroni and cheese! Yogurt couple times a week too.
