Hello all,

So, I bought 3 "cherry egger" pullets from a feed store. No, I didn't NEED them, I just wanted them and it's hard for me to pass up chicks!

Anyways, I had never heard of "cherry eggers" before so I asked the person working at the feedstore what they are. This was his response:

"They're the ones that are supposed to lay them really dark brown eggs".

So... I'm guessing he didn't really know what he was talking about as far as chickens go, but I could be wrong.
Anyways, could y'all tell me what these are?

Cross?
What color eggs do the lay?
Good/bad layers?
Broody?
Friendly?

Thankyou all!

Hello! I have 3 Cherry Egger pullets that will be 6 weeks old Friday. I believe them to be a cross between Rhode Island Reds and New Hampshire reds (or that's what I've been told). They are not broody and are supposed to be excellent egg layers of light brown eggs. Being production reds they will lay a lot of eggs.

2 of mine are pretty tame but the other is very flighty. Here is my friendly one.
