To bump this thread... for a cooler, ask a vet clinic if they can hold on to some for you. They get shipped things in styrofoam coolers, some small, some large, on a regular basis.

I spent a couple of hours last night reading this thread and love the simplicity of this setup. I want to add a few birds to my flock, so I'm gathering parts now to build one. This will be a good project to do with my three girls. I'm sure there will be questions along the way.

I noticed that several people made these during the thread. Are any still in use now?
