chic with a limp

I haven't had a chick with a limp, but I did have an adult hen injure a leg and limp. I isolated her in a small crate, big enough that she could turn around to eat and drink and get away from her poo, but not so big that she could move around alot. Resting the leg like this was all it took for the sprain to heal.
Your situation is different in that it's a chick. If removed to a crate, he/she will be very lonely and likely peep alot. I suggest that you add a small hand mirror, stuffed animal or (don't laugh, it works) a clean feather duster for company.
Good luck to you and welcome to BYC.

I have a similar situation. One of my 2 week old chicks is lame. She lays on her side and appears to have trouble walking. She will move away when I reach to grab her but then lays down again. I believe she was dropped when being held. I noticed this last night and put her in a box this morning because she was getting trampled by the others. Hopefully this will allow her to heal. I will keep you posted. Any other advice would be appreciated.
