I have a chick that was stolen from the nest and left in the pasture in his shell. The shell was managled and the chick was alive and peeping. I know not to remove the shell but we had no choice other than destroying the chick. My thought being that he had worked too hard to live to have me take him out. Ok, he is now in a incubator (for 24hrs) and is now sitting up and I have given him some Pedilyte and vitamins. I am concerned about where to go from here. I know his chances are slim but he has a determination to live that I think I should support. Any suggestions?

The incubator is at 50% humity and 90F. He is on a towel with a towel around him to hold him in one place and keep him safe. Today he is holding up his head and trying to move around. I am worried about his little legs splaying and what should I try to feed him?

crank up the heat to at least 95 which is the party line for new babies. heat helps injured and or traumatized birds and 100 wouldnt hurt him.

Dont feed him or water him he should be ok for at least 48 to 72 hours. Is his yolk all in and how is his umbilical, are his eyes open? can he walk?
