if you give this little one to original mama or to the other hen please post and let us know how it goes.

I waited till the little guy fluffed up and a bit and was moving on his own. I moved him under the modern game hen and she let him go under her. She softly pecked him between 4-6 times at random times. But she hasnt pecked him again. I am going to go check on him in about 15 minutes and if she isnt accepting him, I will have to figure something else out...

I hope she will accept him, let me know whats going on.

I went out their and checked again. She was resting with the two chicks underneath. I have a good feeling she has accepted him. She is overall and very sweet girl. She probably appreciates a chick who likes to stick around her! lol The two day old one she hatched is very independent during the day and doesnt listen to her constant clucking trying to herd him under her. I think this will be the best situation for the little guy as it is much more calm and relaxing which is what he needs after a long day of hatching! Also, since I dont have a picture, I will describe his coloring. He seems to have a creamy orange head with a creamy silver/blue body. Almost that of a lemon blue color. It will be interesting to see how he turns out! And he may be a keeper!

Checked this morning on him to see how he was doing. He is fine and all fluffed out. The new mama has accepted him and even got worried when I picked him up

That is great news!! give that hen a pat on the head for me. and hope they all continue to stay healthy and that you never get a fright like that again. [of course with chickens ya never know] let us hear how they are doing from time to time. There is also a broody link on https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=457488 wishing you and your flock all the best.

I had a similar experience this spring with a chick. I sprayed on Veteriacyn (can get at most TSC's or feed mills. It is expensive ($20-30./bottle) But lasts far a long time and works wonders. The chick that I had was accidentally broken open by my 4 yr old daughter, and it was not quite ready to be out of the egg either. It still had some of the yolk outside of its belly. I sprayed this on for a day and the yolk was inside the belly cavity by the end of the day. The chick coincidentally got named Lucky. He is now a healthy robust young Roo with lots of spunk and you would never know that he had such a rough start to life.
