chick bands

Can someone tell me how do you remove those metal bands that are on the wings of baby chicks. I can't seem to get them off without the babies chirping in pain. And even then can't get them off.

You can leave them. You will hardly notice them when your chicks are adults. Many breeders use wing bands.

They are on peacock chicks as they grow bigger will they not affect or grow into them?

Some of my chicks from last year had them. I used wire cutters and needle nose pliers to get them off. Yes, they chirped the whole time I was doing it.
