Chick behavior. Is she a rooster?

FYI.....semantics, maybe, but can be important communication terms when discussing chicken behavior.
Female chickens are called pullets until one year of age, then they are called hens.
Male chickens are called cockerels until one year of age, then they are called cocks(or cockbirds or roosters).
Age in weeks or months is always a good thing to note.

Single chick added to the 4 Adults?
She's most likely jumping on you to get away from the older birds...

Thank you! Very helpful. Now it makes more sense that she perches so much, probably a way to avoid the hens. They have almost a thousand square feet of fenced space so she has ways to avoid the hens. She has her own smaller cage she can hide in also. I don’t put cage them in any small enclosure together because the hens would definitely be aggressive at this point.
