Chick Behavior

I noticed something different tonight about my 2 wk old chick. She squated down, shook her tush, backed up and then pooped. Has anyone else seen this?

could be perfectly normal, but what sort of bedding is she on? give some more details about her setup.

I've seen some of mine do that so sounds normal to me.

If the poop is normal and she didn't show any signs of distress it's fine. Chicks can get quite vocal when there's problems back there, like constipation or inability to relieve themselves due to pasty butt. As long as things look normal and the chick is happy I won't worry.

No distress. The poop was normal. I have her on pine pellets. I feed them dumour chick starter/grower and use ACV in their water. They get one treat at night. Night before it was small amount of mashed egg. She was eating and drinking fine last night and she looked good this am. Oh.. also does get sprinkling of chick grit over food since I started treats.

Most of mine to a little "shake" when they poo. I think it is cute.
