hi all, need a bit of help. I have two one month old chicks that hatched under their Mum, however one of the chicks seems to be a bit aggressive and keeps chasing the other one around. I also found witnessed it sparing with its Mum today. I haven’t seen this behaviour before so should I be worried.

Thanks in advance for any advise .

:welcome Such 'play' fighting is not at all unusual. It is early settling of the pecking order. Both pullets and cockerels can exhibit such behavior, but cockerels tend to do so more frequently.
Agreed. The chicks will fight with everyone more so as roosters, though... I'd keep my eyes open, especially if he's bigger... Oh, and :welcome

Thank you. I am a bit suspicious that it is in deed a rooster. Time will tell but it may well match the behaviour shown. Thanks for the welcome too

Thanks and I suspect it may well be a rooster, I have my eye on that one. Thank you for the welcome

I had a little cockerel who started attacking my hand when I tended Mama and babies at the tender age of 2 weeks! He thought he was all that, and then some! I did some dominance training, and within a week, he had turned into a model citizen. I called him "Little Man!"
