Hello y'all!!
Ok, so my cousin gave me a chick she got from a friend and since it was just one chick, we thought I'd take it with me so it can mingle with my 2 week old chicks. This chick seems a week younger btw. I've noticed 2 chicks in particular are bullying the new baby. I just got the chick today too. They peck at it just cuz and already, the new chick is trying to hide. I have my chicks in a "2 story" cage. What can I do??

When ever adding to a "flock" it's good to quarantine the newbie to observed for illness. That said, intergrating newbies to your "flock" no matter what age, expecially with a single add, it's going to be hard on the single.

Is it possible to keep the newbie in the same cage yet section off part of the cage (with food & water) to keep it protected from being pecked on continuously? Whenever a newbie is add to a flock, the newbie will be pecked on as it's not part of the flock.

How many chicks do you already have? You say 2 chicks in particular are bullying the new baby .... You could remove the 2 for a day, then add them back to see if "time out" takes care of the bullying.

Thanks for the tip!! I didn't know that.
This is what the cage looks like
I had 7 chicks, and now with this single add, 8.

It looks like you have Ameracaunas!!!!!! Yay! I love mine! However, integration is super crucial with them more so than with my other breeds. Then again, they are my dominant flock as well. Yours look like pullets based on their coloring (if they are anything like mine, the all blacks(with the yellow down on chest) are 99% of the time female. No guarantee). I notice that the hens take more to establish and/reestablish their order than any roos.....

They will outgrow that fast. Do you have their coop ready? Could be you set this up inside their coop for the newbie and put them in their coop....? Definitely give the two bullies a timeout. Are they sexed?
No, I don't have their coop ready yet. I'm waiting for my dad to get home to see if he'll help me, because the coop we have now belong to my pigs. But, other than that, no they are not sexed yet.

Haha, I'm not sure what kind they are as they're mixed. The flock my dad had unfortunately fell victims to either a hawk or foxes, we're not sure what happened. So, I incubated eggs they laid and these chicks except the newbie are the resulting babies.
