So this chick hatched about a couple hours ago so he is very young and still not quite fluffed out yet. I had opened up the incubator to fix the humidity leve and I noticed blood on his navel and blood on the nearby eggs, which makes me think that this may have been going on for a hour or so. I don't know what I should use to clean it with 😰. Besides the bleeding he seems OK. I have heard that if the " belly button " gets pulled on it the chick could have it's insides pulled out 😥, could this lead to that!? Here are some pics.

Ahh! She might have been born too soon. Sounds like the yolk wasn't fully absorbed. Was there any left in the shell? It's like if the embelical cord on a baby was messed up if you understand what I'm trying to say. Was she helped in the hatching process? I use vetericyn on open or bad woulds my chickens get so spray that on her maybe. I'm so sorry.

Try not to agitate at it but maybe a warm very lightly supper soft cloth should be held against it till it scabs over. And watch her around the other babies. they might "attack" when they see blood.
