Yep, that’s probably what’s going to happen. It may sound heartless but I would not let it suffer. I’d put it down.
This chick has been pecked by another hen. This chick is probably going to die! What can I do?
Hatched under a hen. Are you sure, because it wasn’t bleeding when I got to it, it’s just a bit of the face was gone and the eye looked covered. Are you sure this was hatched this way? Was it hatched in an incubator, or under a hen? If a hen, she might of pecked it, and should have any more chicks immediately removed.
It had hatched within the hour or so. The skin didn’t looked ragged. It just looked like it had never been there.Hatched under a hen. Are you sure, because it wasn’t bleeding when I got to it, it’s just a bit of the face was gone and the eye looked covered.
It's a hard thing to tell. Too me, personally, I think it was an after hatch thing. The mother hen might of tried killing it thinking it's a mouse or something. I wouldn't let any chicks be under her for this reason alone. She might attack others.Does this chick have any chance at a good life? Is it deformed and if not, how can you tell? It was put back under the Mum because I was told that it was the best place it could be. If you guys are sure, I’ll see if I can give it any special treatment in time.
