Chick born with no feet and potentially blind

It was part of batch of eggs that have been a bit of a disaster. I’ve had 4/9 die after pipping, one live and we’ll chick, 1 that has popped overnight and 3 still sitting there on day 23.
It sounds as if the parent stock and/or their nutrition was deficient in some important respects. I would not use eggs from that supplier again if you want to raise happy healthy chicks.

Hello! Thanks for everyone’s replies. Unfortunately I had to cull the chick yesterday. It had some kind of brain bleed where the back of its head became swollen, and there was just obviously some really serious internal issues.

Very sad, but ultimately it was more appropriate to put it out of its misery.
You really need to get a few of these before you set eggs again.

Some deformities can be avoided with correct temperatures and humidity.
Having steady temps and humidity matter.

Temp spikes can cause deformities.

Having multiple mini Govees like linked above will allow you to know the temp and humidity AT ALL TIMES in multiple spots of your incubator.

You did the right thing.

I'm sorry to hear the chick didn't make it. Nature often takes care of things for us. You're a wonderful person for even caring enough to try. I wish you and your chicks good health, and hope you have a better experience with your next chicks!
