One of my chicks doesn’t seem to be able to close his eyes, or see. I checked on my overnight hatches this morning, and noticed one had eyes that looked almost dried out. The humidity was high in the hatcher, so I thought maybe a piece of debris from the shell was stuck to his eyes. I gently cleaned them with water and a cotton swab, but he still can’t close them. It’s almost like he doesn’t have eyelids.
When I pick him up, he seems disoriented and startled. It’s hard to tell, but I’m not sure if he is able to see.
Has anyone else dealt with this? What do I need to do?
