I have 1 approx one week old chick out of 11. She is a pretty calm chick but is eating, drinking, scratching, preening and closed mouth breathing. However when I first pick her up there is a faint click. It diminishes after she settles down....should I worry, should I treat her? Should I wait for any other symptom?

How is your little one?

Personally, if she is active, eating, drinking, etc. and shows no signs of illness then I would just monitor her. Watch for any signs of lethargy, panting/trouble breathing, swelling under the skin (air sacs), etc.

Without there being other symptoms there's no way to know what's going on or how to treat it.

Keep us posted.

I have my daughter monitoring while I am at work. This morning she still seemed healthy if not for the clicks.

I'm glad to hear she seems to be doing ok. It's always a concern when you hear something "different".

There's no way to know what it is since she is so young. Just watch to see that she's drinking well, eating and active.
