My 4 1/2 week old runt chick is quite behind her sister but seems otherwise healthy. She is beginning to feather after supplementing with vitamins and seems to be getting some weight to her. She looked 2 days old for a solid 2 weeks, but looks to be slowly but surely catching up.
Now, she won’t. Stop. Chirping. I figured it might just be the fact that I’m around them, since chicks tend to be noisy when startled or confused or when people are present. But today I closed the door to the room they’re in and sat silently outside, and she still kept going. Her sister is developing a raspy chirp as she gets older, so I can tell the difference between the two’s voices.
Is she in pain? She seems okay, and it’s more often closed beak peeping and not fully distressed peeping if that makes sense. It’s just constant, which is weird. Any ideas? Is she just loud?
