Hey guys!! I know I haven’t been active for awhile but I have lots of homework that I should be doing... *cough cough. But.. Chick Days are here again!!! I’m going to be getting 3 australorps or buff Orpingtons at my local tractor supply. I honestly can’t decide! What breeds would you guys recommend?

I don't think there is a great deal of difference between behavior - Orps should be a little bigger than Aorps. Some lines of Aorps may be more productive than Orps. the main differences are shape and feather color.

Buff Orpingtons are more docile than Black Australorps. At least in my flock. I have both breeds. It just depends on your preference.

Thanks for telling me! I wanted to stick with one breed to be honest.
I love my Black Australorps too. I just find them a bit more bossy, sassy and vocal. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't say they are aggressive or anything. They are friendly. They come running to the gate to greet me every time I come out. They like to see if I am bringing them goodies lol. They are great foragers. Mine are constantly scratching the ground looking for bugs and what not. I ended up getting my Buff Orpington, Priscilla, after I got the other girls. Priscilla is so sweet and fluffy and is a cuddle bug. She will come up to me and sit on my lap. I've never had to "make" her do that. She has always done so on her own. None of my other girls had ever done that so it just blew my mind. So I guess I am a little bias between the 2 breeds. I got my Buff from Tractor Supply. My Black Australorps came from a different store.
This pic is from back in Nov. She has just started laying this week. I love her. :love

AWWWWWWW!! Cuteness overload!!:love

I would go with buff orpingtons! I had a few in the past and as chicks they would hop on my hand on their own and sit there while I cleaned the brooder and filled up food/water. I also had a black Australorp in the past that was super sweet towards humans but she would let the other chickens know she was boss.
