So my broody hen has been sitting on 2 eggs for 21 days now. Last night I checked on her, one egg had no pipping and the other chick had already poked its peak through the shell. I could hear it chirping! This morning, she is still sitting on one egg but the other she had kicked out of the nest. The chick was still inside although was farther along as far as getting out than when I saw last night. No visible trauma, no bleeding, yolk was absorbed. Any ideas what might have happened?
Edit: I did check on her around 8am and both were still under her. She had kicked it out when I checked on her at 10am.
