You see, after having spent a few days with those little fur balls, your niece grew fond of them, and against her better judgment she decided to keep one for herself without telling you. Put your niece under heat and she will crack....... the troof will come out!

It could be a snake that came in, ate her, and then left. or She could've gotten out and gotten eaten by something else.

Im glad you found the body so you wont have to keep wondering. Sometimes mama hens wont be protective over some chicks and protective of others. Sorry for the loss of the chick.
