Two questions about chick dominance behavior (they're almost 3 weeks old):
1. As of today, the alpha male has moved beyond occasionally pecking my hand to biting. Clearly, saying "no" in a loud, stern voice isn't working. Any other ideas to curb this behavior? BTW, I've raised six dogs - including a female Doberman and a 150lb Lab / St. Bernard male - without any question that I was the alpha.
2. I've observed what I thought to be a female maybe challenging the alpha male?? They're facing off, stretching up their necks, clashing beaks, and occasionally flying at each other. Is this just play, or is it normal male/female interaction, or could my female actually be a runt male?
